1. Go to London with someone who went to school in Spain.
2. Go to Trafalgar Square.
3. Watch them think for a while 'Who is it?'
4. Mention Lord Nelson
5. Repeat step 3
6. Mention the Spanish Armada
7. Hear them say "Ahh, Trafalgar" with a spanish accent and then "I only know him as the bad guy."

Actually, the only reason I know anything about Nelson is because I like to read novels set in the late 19th century London - talking about wars long gone is something they do at great length in those.
