All right. It's Saturday, 9:45 am, and my plane leaves Monday at 12:15 pm.
In between now and then, I have to:

Buy presents for my father, my uncle and about five friends
Do the laundry (five loads, give or take)
Move from my current flat to the new one

This, of course, is not only completely doable, but not at all stressful. At least that's what I tell myself.

In between I also should pack my bags for the week at the parents and figure out a way to get 26 GBP to London.
This might just prove to be the most complicated item on the to do list. I can pay the membership fee of the RCVS via credit card without any troubles, but paying this registration fee for a continuing education course can only be done via cheque (which no bank in Germany provides any more) or direct debit (which is only possible from the UK). I think I'll resort to just putting cash into an envelope and hoping they'll accept it.

Other than that, I'm only at skip=250 on the flist, don't have to work for 8 days and feel amazingly mellow.

How urgent is it for the money to get there? And does it have to be paid by *you* strictly - ie is there a form that needs to go with it, including your signature? If not, and it isn't hugely urgent, I would be happy to write them a cheque on your behalf if you paypal me the money beforehand (although I'd unfortunately need for it to be a transfer of money being already *in* your paypal, because I have an upgraded account and so they take fees if the money sent isn't from already existing paypal funds but drawn straight from your account, if that makes sense).

Hence the question about urgency, as knowing how long all of that takes it would probably mean I could only send the cheque sometime early January.

May be too complicated for you, if so, don't worry. I just thought I'd offer if you're seriously worried about the money getting lost in the post!

I'd seriously love you forever if you could do that. The last time I had to pay that fee, I had to arrange for them to accept the money in cash beforehand and hand it over personally when I was in London. I do *not* need a repeat of that.

There is nothing requiring my signature or anything complicated, just a slip of paper with my membership number and the explanation where to send it - if you'd be willing to send it, I could email it to you.

You'll have to tell me if any of that should be too much trouble for you (or your back) because I'm not going to stress other people out just because the normally sensible RCVS can't cope with foreign people sending money right now.

This is why I asked if it was urgent, because I won't be able to get to it before the new year (going away to Germany for a week on Monday). But if the awkwardness on the paypal side isn't a problem for you (ie putting the funds in your account before sending it to me), then it really isn't any bother writing and sending one little cheque for me.
