Following my tradition of only writing entries when Events are occuring, I think a global pandemic does qualify.
I'm in the slightly weird position of not actually having a system critical job in any way but also not being able to work from home or just not go to work, not for financial reasons, but simply because pets don't stop being sick because their owners are sick/self isolating/social distancing. And one of the things an already anxious population doesn't need is worrying about their pets on top.
I'm finding it fascinating to watch people react to this though, because I find the combination of full ostrich effect and high levels of anxiety utterly strange.
So refreshing twitter is mostly a source of 🍿for me while I am enjoying as much social distancing as my heart desires.
I will maintain that this is not me showing my full on sociopath but at least partially training. I did go into emergency medicine because of the unpredictability and accepting the limitations of what you personally can or can't do is something you learn fairly quickly.
Anyway. For a more fun last thought: for some reason both the last book I read as well as the show I'm currently watching have pandemics as fairly major plot points. Completely unintentionally very topical xD
