How long was he in?

I know that the last German (or rather Dutch, they are still debating his nationality) died after 1 1/2 years, which seems rather good :) He was Pope during or shortly after the Reformation and probebly looked at what his country did and got a stroke or something.

Maybe Ratzinger can do the same?
