And before I talk about the week at the clinic, things that make me go "Huh?":

How can it be that I can try on four different trousers and five different shirts of the same size and half of them are too small or too large? Why bother with sizes at all?
And related to that: I'm an average sized person, how can it be that even the short-sizes of trousers are too long for my legs?

People who come in during emergency service hours to buy frontline.

My speedometer. Does work perfectly fine when the bike is lying flat on the ground. Works all right when I hold the bike at an 45° angle, refuses to work when the bike is standing upright. The position of the speedometer doesn't change and until last week it worked just fine. I can't even begin to understand it. Did gravity decide to work on radio signals now?

What kind of backward logic goes into telling me that your 80 kg dog needs a proper meal because it weights 80 kg? I know it weights that much, that's why it doesn't need a proper meal, just enough to keep it from eating *you*.

And something that doesn't make me go huh, but is still annoying:
Why do I have to wear white when I spend most of my day dealing with blood, vomit, shit and other nicely coloured substances? I don't like to wear white. I look silly in it.
But not silly enough to stop me from taking pictures

*whine*

I've been whinging about this for at least the last couple of years; it's got to the point that if I buy ready-to-wear I have to try on absolutely everything.

It's partly this which has driven me back to making my own stuff, that and the fact that even when something 'fits' it doesn't fit particularly well - the darts begin and end in the wrong places, there's never enough space in blouses for my bust (well, OK, I'm a 38GG/H!) and skirts can't accommodate my hips without being too wide in the waist. I recently spent £90 ($170) on software so that I can design my own clothes and make them fit properly. I've never spent a better £90 - and thank goodness I learned to sew as a girl.

And related to that: I'm an average sized person, how can it be that even the short-sizes of trousers are too long for my legs?

Nightmare. My problem is that I'm such an odd shape: trousers and jeans which are large enough are too long, and trouser which are the right length are too tight and both aren't high enough in the back.

Sewing is not difficult, but it does require an ability to turn two dimensions into three in your mind, and not minding doing somewhat repetitive tasks. Oh, and an interest in colour and fabric doesn't go amiss, either!

I so totally agree! But it looks like you have to be white head-to-toe, I only have to deal with the stupid coat (which is still annoying as hell, and currently has multiple stains). I hate it...I'm never wearing white again once I finish training!

...wear the whitecoats in the stables.

That's just insane! I've been in stables, they smell bad and are messy. Coveralls would definitely be a better option. I don't think I'll ever be able to understand those people who are in administration. ;)

Because all you Germans are too damn tall! I'm 160 cm and felt like a midget most of the time when I was there. I love German pants, but I had to cut off 10 to 15 cm off the legs of each pair I bought. Not easy when all you have is a sewing kit and no tape measure or ruler...

Seriously, though, I think all women have these problems. Sure, it's different areas that cause the trouble, but women's clothes are cut to fit nobody at all. I've heard women of every shape and size complain about this. Not sure how to solve it, either.

I'm 164, which is exactly the cutoff measure between normal and short sizes, which means for me that the short sizes are too short for me, and the normal sizes are too long. *sigh*
I'm not the 'good at housework' type, but I'm glad I can sew.

Sometimes I wonder if clothes are getting sold at all, because everyone complains that they're never in a size that fits. Who buys these ridiculously small and ridiculously long trousers and other clothes that are sized for giant skeletons which shops are full of?
