Oh, dear. Culture mismatch again. In the US, "Speedo" is a brand of swimsuit, used most often to refer to the tiny, tight suits that American men only wear if they do competitive swimming. I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be running around in a little men's swimsuit, but the mental imagery is certainly amusing :)
Hey, I could be training for the triathlon. ;) But it's patently unfair. I looked the thing up. My OED says it's ok to use. *sulk* I'm doomed. These two languages pretending to be one will get me every time.
