A list. Of things.
My life has to be one of the least affected by the pandemic. That or I am even better at rolling with the punches than I vainly believe myself to be.
- Work continues as usual and the only difference is that now I can't go to the cinema or the museum on my days off.
- I do try to go grocery shopping in the morning after work and have stretched the intervals in between to two weeks but that's not really a hardship, I don't like going shopping and try to avoid it during normal times as well. I already had a fruit-and-veg box delivery every two weeks and milk weekly long before that.
- I order toilet paper, tissues and kitchen roll from Who gives a crap and one order last me for more than six months. My last order was in late January.
- I exercise alone anyway and if I go for a run it is on public footpaths where I encounter maybe three people during the run at the best of times.
- I'm good at working from instructions and so I have sewn two layer face masks that take a hepa-filter insert for myself and my work colleagues. (The UK government being, to no-one's surprise, an utter disaster at managing this, getting surgical masks from our wholesale supplier at work has been ... tricky, let's say tricky.)
- My work conferences and races have or will been postponed.
- As has my usual hiking with friends holiday.
- At some point I will presumably be able to visit my family again but as it is I can only be frustrated from afar that my parents are not taking this seriously enough and/or ignoring their own age.
