I'm way to exited about having figured this out, so be prepared for a bit of rambling :D LoudTwitter offers the option to put text at the beginning and the end of the post, if you add the lj-cut tag there, it will display as any lj-cut. For tags one has to add a bit more code, but it works fine as well. The only thing I've not yet managed to achieve is to have it backdate the things.
What I've put in there looks like this:
text to add at the beginning of the post: <div class="ljtags"><strong>Tags:</strong><a rel="tag" href="http://ridicully.livejournal.com/tag/twitterings">twitterings</a> </div> <lj-cut text="Yesterday's random thoughts:">
Oh! I see it now! I'd noticed that way back when I first set it up, but had forgotten all about that. It didn't occur to me that it could be useful for tags. Thank you!!!
