I love my job. I really do. It just sometimes makes it hard to talk to normal people.

Because, no matter how you try to explain it, the fact that I got bitten in the face by a dog this morning at around 8:30 and only left work just now to see a doctor, makes people shake their heads. (Actually, I didn't intent to see a doctor at all, but my jaw has swollen up more than I consider normal for bites. And I'd like some official note for documentation purposes.)

Anyway, one more piece of evidence in my theory that James Harriot's books were originally called "All Creatures Great and Small - And How They've Tried To Kill Me".

ETA: Of course today had to be Wednesday. The day on which most doctors in Germany only see patients in the mornings. After four fruitles tries, I ended up in the ER, feeling more than just a bit silly.
Since I really didn't think I needed to wait for the surgeon to look at me and my question of which of two antibiotics would be better to use was answered by some intern or student with "Oh, as long as you're vaccinated there should be no problem at all" (which, as much as I am a fan of vaccinations, is plain silly when asked after antibiotics), I've decided to just treat this myself, the same way I would a bite in a dog. It's not my first bite after all, just the fact that it's in the face is what's making me worry more than usual.

alex (sorry ridicully) du weisst ganz genau warum du dich freiwillig in der Kleintierklinik abschinderst und rumscheuchen lässt,........because you are a little masochist,.......gut dass du ne tollwutimpfung hast (da brauchst du dann auch keine AB mehr, werden bei den humanis eh nur verschleudert) ......haben sie die wunde auch sondiert???

Oh yes, I'm fine. I'm more or less used to getting bitten occasionally. It's just that normally it's not my *face*.

J. hat ja gesagt, dass du jetzt wieder Internetzugang hast, aber ich wollte es nicht glauben.
Und in der Charité hab' ich nur mit dem Rezeptionspersonal gesprochen. Und dem AiPler (oder was auch immer er war) der da noch rumhockte. Warum interessieren sich eigentlich alle für die blöde Impfung. Der Hund hat keine Tollwut, der hatte 'ne Bandscheibe. Wahrscheinlich war er sogar häufiger geimpft als ich. Aber daran, dass Bisswunden gerne voller fieser Bakterien sind war das Genie irgendwie nicht interessiert. Ich wollte doch nur wissen ob Amoxi ausreicht oder doch lieber Cepha. Schmock.
Jetzt bin ich halt in die Apothke und habe mir Amoxi für die Dogge von Frau Müller geben lassen weil mir das Synulox ausgegangen ist *husthust*. Ich mag meinen Tierarztausweis.

Und dich frienden? Ich weiß ja nicht. Dann müsste ich ja rausfinden, wie ich die automatische Beobachtung deines Journals wieder ausschalte. Ob ich das im Moment hinbekomme weiß ich nicht. *g*
Außerdem mache ich ja sowieso keine geschützten Einträge (Bin kein Masochist. Bin Exibitionist. Ätsch). Aber wenn's sein muß ;p

warum sich alle für die blöde Impfung interessieren kann ich dir sagen. das liegt daran, dass Tollwut viel häufiger vorkommt als irgendwelche lapidaren bakt. infektionen (wo dir höchstens mal nen paar gliedmassen wegrotten oder in deinem Fall eventuell ein Teil des Gesichts, während bei TW alle Messen gesungen sind)........ am besten war auch mal der spruch von nem Arzt, der meinte man müsse sofort die betreffende Katze euthanasieren (welche im stress bei ner impfung ausflippte in der praxis)nachdem die Frau von ihrer mieze gebissen ward und ihn aufsuchte, die frau hatte nach dem arztbesuch wirklich schiss dass sie Tollwut hat! (natürlich lebt die Katze noch, wie wir wissen iss es ja sowieso verboten ein TWverdächtiges Tier zu exen)
ach alex du bist doch so nen schlaues kerlchen, du weisst bestimmt, wie man die automatische Beobachtg. ausschaltet, und selbst wenn sind nicht alle livejournaluser irgendwo exibitionistisch veranlagt??? (plus bei mir gibts eh nischt zu sehen, bin viel zu faul um was zu schreiben, und muss natürlich grad richtig viel lernen (tierschutz und soooooo.......) geb lieber dumme Kommentare (apropos schickes passbild ^_~)
